RYA Training Courses

Newhaven Yacht Club is now an official RYA training centre!

All courses will be held at the RNLI building, on the riverside at Newhaven. For information, please contact Course Principal Tony Titchener, on 07784 713612, or email - Tonytitch@aol.com.

Please note, we can now take requests from members for an RYA Day Skipper Practical course, (1 week sea based course) subject to there being enough takers to fill the boat, and cover the cost. The cost will be much cheaper than the sailing schools charges. Clearly to run such a course we need those wanting to benefit to agree a date with our qualified RYA Instructor. Please contact Tony Titchener if you want to obtain your Day Skipper Practical qualification.

Saturday 28th June - One day RYA Course - Radar.

This course is aimed at skippers and others interested in how to use and interpret radar screens and would like to get a formal RYA certificate. The aim is to ensure that Radar users can safely calculate the aproach of other vessels to avoid collision at sea. The Instructor will be using Radar Simulator equipment, and will issue RYA certificates and an informative booklet on completion of the course. NYC Course fees - provisionally - Members £60, non members £75, inclusive of RYA packs. The course will be held at the RNLI Building, West Quay, Newhaven, and will start at 0900.
