Members Sailing Adventures
The pages in this section set out the experiences of some of our members and their crew on longer sailing events. Apart from NYC Rallies, some have joined in the Atlantic Rally (ARC), others have simply enjoyed travelling the world by sea at a more leisurely pace, hopping from port to port, and reporting amusing happenings, and some dangerous times, and how they coped with the various challenges on the way.
The Rallies are, of course, the main reason for our existence as a club, and at each rally we find some regulars, and some new to rallying who join in with the events. For those new to the idea of venturing away from their home port for several days or weeks, the ability to sail in company with others, whereby the planning and organisation has been taken on by one of the more experienced skippers, provides a valuable experience which gives the comfort of knowing that, even if a problem arises, help is close at hand.
Members are encouraged to report their adventures, which include events not organised by NYC - such as the annual Round the Island Race - and photographs can be added to the website for you by the webmaster.
